Just as krill are a vital part of the ocean’s food web, the new Farallones Marine Sanctuary Association Krill Club offers a way for people like you to do your part to sustain the ocean.

Members of the Krill Club keep FMSA programs going by making a monthly donation.  We set it up so you don't have to think about it--except when you look out at the ocean and know you are contributing to the health of our marine environment.

Krill: an essential species

This vital new group is named after the shrimp-like marine invertebrates that provide an essential food source for whales, sharks, seals, and several seabird species that feed almost exclusively on krill. Krill's scientific name is Euphausiids. The name krill comes from the Norwegian word krill meaning "young fry of fish.”

Krill. The news has been full of the crisis our marine environment faces.  Your donation enables FMSA to sustain its programs educating the next generation, monitoring our beaches, and protecting marine life.

A contribution to sustain the ocean’s precarious health

“As a resident of Marin County, the preservation of our local ocean environment is very important to me," says FMSA Krill club member Brannon Fisher, whose monthly donation helps sustain the organization. "Supporting FMSA as a member of the Krill Club helps to ensure that our fantastic quality of life will continue."
