More on Monitoring Handbooks

Monitoring Handbooks

To help fulfill the Sanctuary's goal of monitoring the natural resources, FMSA and the Sanctuaries have developed monitoring projects for high school students. The education staff is available to help San Francisco Bay Area educators set up and run monitoring programs at their high schools. Handbooks describe the monitoring habitat and sampling protocol, and provide data sheets and data analysis methods. There is a $5.00 charge for printing and shipping costs.

More on Slide Presentations and Speakers

We have developed the following slide shows about the habitats and natural history of the Sanctuaries. With the provided script you can educate your students about the Sanctuary, or the education staff may be available to come to your classroom. All shows are available as 35 mm slides, while some are available as PowerPoint shows. To borrow the slides, $100 deposit is required.

Highlighted slideshows are now available to view on this website. Please do not use these photos elsewhere. Thanks!

More on Paddlers Etiquette

"Paddlers' Etiquette" is a small, colorful card which will be attached to rental kayaks as a reminder to keep a considerate eye out for wildlife. Another, larger version serves as a colorful flyer to help spread the word on how to co-exist on our waterways with seals, birds, and other animals. To download PDFs of the pieces, click below. The two pieces were developed in collaboration with Marin Open Space, Bay Area Sea Kayakers, and the California Department of Fish and Game.
