A Pigeon Guillemont is part of the food web in the Gulf of the Farallones

Food webs in the ocean are far more rich and diverse near the western edges of continents than the eastern edges. In the coastal waters of California, like areas off South America's Pacific Coast and the western coastline of Africa, the conditions are created for a phenomenon called upwelling, which brings nutrients up from the deep waters during upwelling season and feeds vast amounts of raw material into the ecosystem of the Gulf of the Farallones....
